Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Data Engineer to guide and influence innovative engineering team to deliver scalable data, analytics and reporting solutions, implement new technologies, participate in solution design and architecture discussions. The ideal candidate will have outstanding communication skills, expert data design and implementation capabilities with noSQL solutions, strong eye for business success, and a drive to deliver results. The person in this role will be technically proficient and excel at collaborating with engineers, analysts, leaders and business partners. This person will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and will enjoy working in a fast-paced, global and dynamic environment. 

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON

In this role, you will build and deliver scalable data, analytics and reporting solution focused on Enterprise Customer Data Management. You will design, implement and integrate Data Bricks reporting solution with the Customer Management Platform. You will be chipping in to all aspects of data engineering from ingestion, transformation, and consumption, including the Bronze, Silver and Gold Layers. You will also participate in architecture and design and review discussions to process, store and distribute complex data sets. In addition, you’ll contribute to moving CMP Data Migration solution to the AWS cloud.

Essential functions

  • Design, Mentor, and build reusable components, frameworks and libraries to support data analytics, reports, dashboards and efficient database structures within Data Bricks and later, Dynamo DB/AWS Data Migration tool.
  • Design and implement product features in collaboration with business and Technology stakeholders.
  • Identify and solve issues concerning data management to improve data quality and efficiency.
  • Clean, prepare and optimize data model/STM for ingestion and consumption.
  • Analyze and profile data for designing scalable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues.
  • Develop architecture, design patterns, and frameworks to process and store data for enterprise reporting.
  • Define and apply appropriate data consumption strategies for given business scenarios.
  • Implement security around sensitive data, including telemetry and observability.
  • Transition near real-time reporting in solution in Tableau -to automated data flows from DynamoDB to Data Bricks for report visualization.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor/Master degree in Computer Science or related technical subject area or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years relevant work experience in the Data Engineering field,
  • 5+ years experience building scalable, real-time and high-performance cloud data lake solutions
  • Deep Experience with Data Bricks
  • Strong experience with data modeling and efficient design
  • Strong experience with programming languages such as Python and TypeScript.
  • Strong Experience with source control tools such as GitHub Actions, Terraform and related CI/CD processes
  • Experience working with Data streaming services such as Kafka, etc.
  • Strong Experience working with NoSQL data stores and caching mechanisms such as DynamoDB, DAX, etc.
  • Strong Experience provisioning RESTful APIs to enable data hydration
  • Strong Experience working in AWS environment primarily S3, Lambdas, Redshift, Athena.
  • Strong experience with visual reporting and analytics tools like Tableau and Databricks.
  • Strong collaborator with experience providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers
  • Proven track record of rapidly learning new technologies and developing and implementing proof of concepts and practical, working code
  • Proven track record to influence and communicate effectively with team members and business partners
  • Proven track record to partner with teams in solving complex problems by taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodology and tools like JIRA and Test Automation Frameworks
