Data Engineer - SQL/Python

We are actively seeking a great Data Engineer with strong technical expertise in SQL-P / Python, who is interested in joining our growing projects for one of the biggest IT companies.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in the design and development of high-performance business applications, from requirements analysis to production
- Lead the data mapping activities from the legacy systems to a new system with support from Client functional leads and SMEs.
- Build the data migration programs from legacy systems.
- Lead data validation activities.
- Design, Build, Implement and Support New and Existing Conversions Solutions across Multiple Applications Platform.
- Communicate conversion Solutions across project, product, business and quality assurance.
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality data migration solutions in order to meet project expectations and deadlines.
- Strong working knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems, Web Services APIs, and SQL with an emphasis on ETL, performance tuning, and analytics use cases.
Requirements:
- 3+ years in Software Development
- Education in Computer Science or similar theoretical knowledge in CS: algorithms and complexity estimation, data structures, operating systems, programming languages
- Python / SQL – this a must-have as most of our work is done in SQL and python to join large data sets across multiple tables.
- Base understanding of cloud computing, data pipelines.
- Big Data – not a must-have but ideal if the resource has worked with record sets north of a billion.
- Experience with data migration and management projects from beginning to end. Experience with data management activities on a cloud platform is a plus.
- Data modeling and solution design experience.
- Ability to accurately scope, adjust when requirements change, and accurately allocate level of effort for tasks.
- Ability to work well independently and with a team of highly talented software professionals in a rapid development environment.
- Experience with large data sets.
- Ability to proactively identify and solve engineering problems
- Good interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good English skills (both spoken and written) are a must
